A loss on paper but Kettering owned the possesion

The game started well with Kettering's men's second team passing the ball crisply and cleanly between players creating plenty of attacking options. Unfortunately Saints got an early break and converted quickly to take the early lead. However Kettering continued to dominate the play transferring the ball well around the pitch with some fantastic quick 1-2 passing.
But the saints got another break after Kettering's attack was firmly committed to the oppositions half and scored once again this was quickly repeated to give them 3 goals leading into half time. Kettering's men continued to play with attacking intent eager to get a goal on the board. Dominic Cusk was on great form creating options a plenty and taking on the saints back line but could'nt quite find the back board.
The first halve drew to a close and a solid team talk and discussion was needed to put together a plan and seek the goals the team was intent on scoring. Once again Kettering men's 2nds set about attacking in good style with plenty of quick passing of the ball around players Paul Brooker took some great runs up the wing and into the opponents D to be awarded a short, Unfortunately the strike went wide but not long after some more play another short was awarded and was pushed short to Adam Duell for a hit onto post runner Dom for a narrow miss. Again another short minutes later and Nick Cusk drills the ball bottom left and we were on the board.
Saints soon got another elusive break and scored again after Tom Ward showed his skill in defensive receiving the ball and opting to hold onto it for a while taunting the attacking player who couldnt quite get it off him, despite Phil Rowbothams persistent call to pass the ball.
Not long after some great play led to Geoff Elliot making a great pass in the D to Jason Clarke who had the P spot all to him self and missed a sitter. After this Saints scored once again on the break but led to an intense passage of short corners for kettering but still couldnt quite find the goal once again. As the game drew to a close Jason Clarke found the top left corner with a neat simple but effect strike across the keeper to make it 2 goals for kettering.
Again it was another inspired game for Ketterings 2's and can be proud of the constant attacking possession and style of hockey they played. With more training and practice they will be rewarded.
