Kettering had a pre season start warm up against Atherstone Adders 2's which herald from our previous league in the midlands. Heading to the game we knew they were of a higher calibre but fancied a challenge against these old compatriots.
The game went well on a whole and unfortunately the scoreline didnt reflect this with atherstone making easy work of ketterings defense which so far this season has stood a solid test. However many positives are to be taken from a great set of performances from the teams younger players in jack bridges, ned wilson almost taking his first goal on 2 occasions and george york scoring once again.
On the day man of the match went to skipper jason clarke who also recieved a fast high ball to the head/ear.
Next week see's the team face 2nd in the league cambridge city who currently sit 1 point ahead of Kettering so it's sure to be a big game and a must win for either side.
