We've all been there, well, most of us. You always remember Wisbech. A little old clubhouse, very much like ours before the great fire of '97. Every chance of getting electrocuted by the showers. You know the deal.
But we all remember the pitch. I especially remember the door mat thing. It clearly said something like "Please Clean your Shoes". The problem was that this was after you had actually played on the pitch not before. It was the astro equivalent of playing on grass.
But no longer - they have a new pitch!! I wonder if they stretched to a path or will it still be a trudge over mud to get there. We'll find out and report back.
Now Mr Hawkins, who is renowned for his cynicism, is concerned that their first team are playing on Friday night and wonders how many will rock up to play on Saturday. We'll report back!!
