Ethan Roberts is catch of the day.

Relatively high flying Wisbech visited Bishop in a fairly forgettable game bar one big highlight in the first half.

Wisbech seemed much changed from the first encounter and opened the scoring from a penalty stroke after it hit Joe on the line. A poor Wisbech tackled lead to Craig Scott being green carded moments later for what looked a less serious challenge and Ben Mills saw yellow for his protestations, despite not being on the pitch. Skipper Paul sat out his penalty.
Then we had the highlight of the half when Ethan accidentally hooked sticks with a Wisbech midfielder. Unable to entangle himself Ethan was ragged around like a large marlin for what looked like ages. At one stage he was clearly lifted from his prone position and aerially spun about. A top moment.
Meanwhile, back at the game, Wisbech scored again via a decent reverse stick shot after Kettering coughed the ball up in midfield. The hosts equalised just before the break when fine work by Pat Cawley saw his shot saves but Jacques Lourens flicked home the rebound.
For all the huffing and puffing in the second half Kettering were unable to add to their tally despite the excellent work from TightMan Dean and young tyro Ellis. Wisbech scored from another short to seal the game but there was still time for a mini hsndbags which saw Jacques and a Wisbech player take a break. They were joined later by a permanently moaning Wisbech midfielder who could have gone hours before.
Another game against statistically one of the better sides in the league but the gap between Div 3NW and 2NW is such that whoever gets promoted could well be cannon fodder for the big boys in Div 2 so we will happily stay where we are and a couple more victories should secure that.
Next week off to have a look a St Ives new pitch and a winnable game.
Happy Birthday Brookesy, we missed you, get fit soon.
