Two points lost today rather than one gained.

It is only fair to start with the positives from today’s game.

1. The new pitch was better than the old one but not as nice as Wisbech
2. Teas were by a country mile the best away tea of the season.

Other notable highlights:-

1. Jacques was unable to open a bottle of pre game lucozade
2. “You’re defending short corners” Joe forgot his face mask …
3. … and his towel.
4. It was Mills’s birthday. He didn’t play so couldn’t get a card!
5. The Cock at Denford was rammed because of the rugby.

The game.
1. On balance we were better than them, but didn’t look it.
2. They wanted it more than us and we lacked any intensity shown in previous weeks.
3. Jacques had a goal bound shot really well saved by their goalie.
4. Adam saved one on the line
5. Jacques, by this time on one leg, was closed down by the goalie who made another decent save.
6. Craig got a green card.
7. Ellis missed what has to go down as a really good chance.
8. Paul should have got a yellow for a bit of football.
9. Their forward should also have gone for knocking the ball away.
10. No one scored
11. No one remotely looked like scoring
12. We could have played 6 hours each way and it would still have been 0-0
13. It felt like we threw two points away
14. Barry got MoM, damned with faint praise
15. “Facemask” Joe got DoD.
16. “TightMan” Dean was 7.5/10 - standard.

Onwards and upwards, home next week to Cambridge South and Mr Hawkins will be demanding an improvement or he might shout again like he did at half time.
