Having been dismantled by Camb Uni in the home fixture Kettering set about being solid and hard to break down in this sunny Saturday fixture. As it happened Kettering played well through and at time took the game to their opponents and in the first half had the best chances as Ellis Grant hit the post with a diving effort and a couple off good overloads went unrewarded.
The students were rewarded in the second half when usually reliable stopper Coe deflected a cross in with his stick handle. Kettering were, rather unsurprisingly unable to equalise as our goal less streak runs to 4 games.
Safety may be more by luck than judgement but we play two winnable games to finish starting with an evening game at Peterborough followed by already relegated Bourne.
Onwards and upwards…..
