First half showed great but fatigued the second.

Kettering men's 2's first home game of the season and hopes were high as the hunt is still on for the elusive win. The game started well with Kettering showing the good stuff and creating chances along with moving the ball well around the pitch. Cambridge CIty started the scoring with a very low key goal seeing the ball in slow motion over the line.
Kettering kept playing well and saw many chances down the right hand side through Paul brookers wealth of experience linking with the forwards. Ned, George and jack all showed great performances individually proving an asset to the squad.
Ketterings first chances came from a few short corners but could'nt quite link the injector with the top of the D but this was soon followed up by a shot on goal by jason clarke narrowly missing the right post with george york not quite there for the deflection.

However second attempt nearing the end of the first half saw a scramble for the ball in the D and the opposition pushing it out to a free jason clarke at the top of the. With much time to hand, shot away to the right post and George york was their to collect it into the goal. This concluded the first half 1-1.

Second half was a different story, Cambridge had changed their play style and were overloading the centre forwards causing much frustration in the Kettering defensive line up. A series of short corners once again faced Kettering and were saved by Cambridges slow injections but this didnt stop them going 2-1 up.
The half continued and frustration and fatigue grew and Kettering's play was very lost with players losing position but left for a few more chances with short corners but these did not go smoothly ad failed to find goal.

As the game came to a close Nick cusk took first strike on a short and flicked it right but looking a little wide Ned wilson narrowly missed a deflection in to the goal. This saw the game out and with a loss to cambridge of 2-1. Man of the match was voted for Goal scorer George York who looks to show great potential for the season.
