Kettering register a great win!

This weekends game saw Kettering 2's play 1 of 2 longer distance teams Louth. Kettering were looking to right the wrongs from last weeks game and did they do it in style. What a game!

Kettering allowed the opposition to take pushback having won the toss and were quick to steal the possession and with in minutes george york narrowly missed the goal. The game continued with great play through all ketterings players with top performances from the midfield ricky payne and sam deprisco. Ketterings defence stayed solid through out and barely allowed a shot on our goal leaving matthew coe with minimal work to do.

Ketterings first goal came from some great play up the right side starting form geoff elliot to paul brooker who took the ball towards the D after some smooth skills and passed a great one to george york on the penalty spot for a shot on goal. The keeper scrambled and the ball spat out from under his feet to roll slowly but neatly over the line. A goals a goal and that makes george 3 goals from 3 games.

The next goal came from Sam deprisco who made the most of a scrambled defence and a put in a nice goal to take the team 2 - 0 up. This was going like dream work and kettering sought to keep applying the pressure. Play continued with ketterings dominance and a few short corners went by with nick cusks flick going high over the cross bar.

However at one point due to a series of events kettering went 3 players down and defended hard and dug deep to put in a good performance from all players to not let the opposition get a look at the goal.

The next short corner that came round was set to be something different but it went a little messy buy some great play making and intuition saw nick cusk run on to the near post to get a cheeky deflection into the goal for a third goal. Half time whistle and a very moral boosted team.

The second half kettering pushed hard from the off creating many chances and flowing nicely with passes between all players. The 4th goal came from some well worked open play with it ending as paul brooker gave a good ball to george york who was being pressed for a tackle but jason clarke called for a pass top of the D and struck the ball into the goal. The game continued with an almost 5th goal from ricky payne and plenty of skill on show from sam deprisco putting the oppositions defence under pressure.

Peter Wenje made his 2nd team debut and played well positioning himself well in the forward pack putting in a quality effort but couldnt quite get his goal scoring magic into flow. Man of the match went to regular winner George york who continues to shine and develop his skills. COngrats to all as the team played as a cohesive unit and continues to show the development and training is paying off. next week sees kettering 2's play St Ives.
