kettering lose 4-2 to top of the league

Kettering looked to improve on the 0-0 draw last time these teams met and it was certainly a clash of the top. the first half was a game of the midfield with kettering finding the wood work with a well struck shot from sam deprisco.
The game was looking well matched and another 0-0 draw was on the cards as half time drew nearer. The game saw a debut to the mens 2's in the form of Harry Tanser who showed his supreme skill on a very bouncy pitch. Also making a return to the team after a break from the sport was Callum Hennell who fitted straight in and played a solid game.

At the half time break the game was drawn 0-0 and every player on the pitch was giving 110% in pursuit of winning and kettering felt they were in the game for a win.

As the second half started you would never think 6 goals were coming in 35 mins of game time but unfortunately they did. The first two goals against were questionable but the decision stands and again another flurry of goals against kettering saw them 4-0 down. Some brilliant play up the pitch saw kettering make easy work of the Cambridge midfield as the ball quickly found the D and a shot was off. keeper deflected and harry tanser saw his chance and took it for his first goal.
Sooner after another very similar goal but this time a great strike from the top of the D by Tanser saw ketterings fighting spirit revived. Cambridge seemed to switch off and perhaps saw the dread comeback of the opposition happening again before their eyes after they almost beat Louth but to only give it away last minute. \kettering kept pushing and won several shorts and had many shots but couldn't put it in the back of the goal. The game ended with a short corner to kettering who looked to score for fun to finish but again failed to find goal.
Man of the match went to Harry Tanser for a great performance and scoring the two goals that brought the team back to life.

Next week they play at home against Peterborough 8ths so come down and watch as there will sure be a goal or two.
