Kettering win 2-1

Kettering faced basement boys Peterborough 8ths and expected a goal frenzy game but unfortunately struggled to connect stick and ball effectively in the D to put balls in the goal.

The first half started a little chaotic and took a while for Kettering to find their feet but effectually began passing ball well and looked to attack. Many players took shots on goal but couldn't post a score. It wasn't till half way through the half Peterborough went 1 up as a speculative shot rolled over the line.

A big change in play was required a half time to get the team functioning properly and was created through Adam duell bossing the distribution from an aggressive centre back roll. Easily finding the middle field skipper Japan Clarke and Ricky Payne they could easily play some nice one twos with Callum Hennell who had a fair share of shots on goal.
His first and sadly only goal came through opposition panic in the D and a loose ball asking to powered into goal. 1-1 and Kettering were looking to take the lead with another.
Not long after some great midfield quick pass and go hockey saw Clarke make a break and pass to an open Hennell who saw the skippers intention to run into space in an open D. One on one with the keeper Jason dragged the keeper out of goal and as he through himself to the floor slotted it straight under his ribs.
2-1 and Kettering looked to continue scoring but despite great play and we'll worked attacks just couldn't finish off.
The game ended 2-1 and saw man of the match go to Adam duell who put in a great performance distributing the ball well into the channels and being the creative playmaker on the pitch.
Kettering will look to improve on this performance as they travel long distance to horncastle next weekend with only 3 games left to play in the season.
