Kettering find their scoring form again.

Kettering faced Ely city this weekend who put up a stubborn fight when faced before Christmas and this weekend was a must win to keep the their form at the top end of the league table.

Kettering started well and looked the better side with Ely only playing 10 men and no substitutes fitness was going to be their cryptonite. Unfortunately Kettering conceded first due to an opposition short corner and poor post man stopping power. This gave Kettering the real shove to pick up there game and start paying some pass and move hockey.
Soon Sam Deprisco found himself space and eliminated a few players into the D and shot clean for the left corner and scored. Great goal and 1-1.
Next up was Deprisco again from a short corner who fired it in and took Kettering the lead. Kettering persisted with the attack bit were lucky on a few Ely city breaks and the defense did an outstanding job to keep the score down.

Half time and Kettering were up but could not afford to be complaisant. They pushed hard from the off but found them selves being pressed hard and fending off the pressure but to eventually losing a goal through a penalty flick. 2-2 and Kettering needed goals.
Skipper Clarke had a great drive from the half way line to the attacking D to fire in a lovely reverse stick shot. It was going in as the keeper dived the wrong way for young yorkie to deflect it out the goal.
George York got himself back in the good books with a scrambled keeper from a long corner set play and put the loose ball in the back of the net.
Shortly after Deprisco scored again and earnt himself a hat trick and a jug of beer.
The best goal came from Paul Brooker who called for the ball after a well played attack and the ball was deflected airborne from Elys defense and he took a running bat and sank it back of the net. Great stylish goal and put Kettering at 5-2 and easily earnt himself man of the match.

Next week is the last game of the season and see Kettering playing bourne deeping who sit one place above them in the league.
