Kettering 1 - 1 bourne deeping

Kettering mens 2 travelled to bourne deeping for their final game of the season which had a slight hint of potential promotion if bourne would then slip up against bottom of the league the following week. But Kettering just looked to see out the season in style and play for the win and enjoy the game.

The game started well with Kettering applying the pressure well and absorbing it when required not allowing bourne to have any shots on goal. Ketterings youth played outstanding and kept hunting for that goal. Some well worked play in the opposition 25 saw an eventual short corner awarded as an opposition foot is given in the D.
In true Kettering style the first one not so to plan but the ball made contact with a players foot and a second attempt. This time the short ball for a cross shot across the keeper for George York to deflect in a fine reverse stick on the post.

Kettering continued to play well and the game went on end to end with a few more chances but still no real threat from bourne deeping. As the game came to a close in the dying minutes a desperate bourne opted for a crash ball across the D which found a stick and and equalised goal.

Overall it had been a great season with the the 2nds finishing third in the league and look to take there well developed youth into next season as favourites to dominate the league.
