Kettering earn a point away from home

Kettering travelled to Louth knowing a tough game was to come. Louth do not often drop points at home, and Kettering, after a near 6 week break with Christmas and postponed games were almost certainly lacking match sharpness. Adding to this, due to player availability, Kettering had no subs for the day.

The game started well, with both sides pressing well and looking good on the ball. Kettering eventually started to assert some dominance and looked the more likely team to score. However, the half finished scoreless.

From the start of the second half, Kettering were on top, and eventually a short corner routine saw Simon Evans inject at pace. Jason Clarke stick stopped perfectly, for Adam Duell to hit an unstoppable ball into the corner.

This was as good as it was to be though, as shortly after this Louth started to gain the upper hand. Kettering lost their shape, and they couldn't keep possession for any amount of time. Louth kept pushing forward, applying pressure, and eventually they scored an equaliser which both teams would have to agree was well deserved.

Louth continued to apply pressure, and Kettering had chances of their own with some occasional breaks neither side could find the winning goal.

The game ended in a draw, which was a fair result on the day.

Kettering make the same trip north again next week to play Horncastle.
