The Men's 3rd XI started their pre-season campaign with a tough match against a strong Market Harborough 3rd XI bolstered by several 2nd team players.
Kettering in contrast had two players making their debut for the club - Ben York and David Brooks.
The match began evenly, until around the 20 minute mark, when the visitors fashioned a chance and a good shot resulted in the first goal. The half continued again evenly with no further goals.
The second half began with Market Harborough showing their dominance, scoring a further 4 goals. Their second goal of this half being most impressive, with a strong flick over the head of the Kettering keeper, Gareth Tasker. Unfortunately, this was how the game finished, 5-0 to the visitors.
There is plenty to look forward to, not least the chance for York and Brooks to build upon their promising start to their Kettering hockey careers.
