Despite having only 9 players, we put up a good fight to keep the score down to a meagre 7 goals to nil against a very talented Atherstone team.
The Adders went up quickly, breaking through the Kettering backline and scored a well worked team goal. Shortly after confusion in the defence led to the 2nd goal,. An injury to Ricky Payne almost saw Kettering's numbers reduced further as a poorly struck shot from a short corner found it's way to his right arm and play was stopped to treat him.
Throughout the second half, Kettering played well with aerials from veteran international Bill Greenwood, Tony Heath and Tom Ward providing respite for Kettering's overworked defence.' Unfortunately, Kettering couldn't get past Atherstone's superb display of Keeping with Jack Bridges almost providing a well deserved goal for Kettering. Youngster Dan Carter made a good debut with some promising runs and good ball control.
MOM: Ricky Payne, Final Score 7-0.
