A win!!!

An air of optimism surrounded the Kettering team. New players Ned and George were about to make their first ever appearance for Kettering and Neil Manley had joined the team. The spirit of new year had made everyone hope for the best...

The game began, both teams waiting to find a hole in the defence. Kettering were clearly on top, just missing chances. A short corner at the end of the half was popped in by Tony Heath, leaving Kettering ahead at half time for the first time since Bill Greenwood can remember!

A slow second-half produced some good chances for Atherstone, but the ball never found the back of the net. As the final whistle blew the Kettering players couldn't keep the smiles off their faces. A win!
