Kate Metcalfe Saves the Day

This was going to be a tough friendly for Kettering, vs Towcester, who are in the league above this season. There were chances for both teams during the match, with Towcester having the more shots on goal. A man of the match performance from goalkeeper Kate Metcalfe kept Kettering in it. In the second half Kettering were awarded a penalty corner, which was stopped on the line by a Towcester foot, and Kettering were awarded a Penalty Stroke. Harriet Graham bravely stepped forward to take the stroke. The keeper got a touch but couldn't stop the ball crossing the line. With both teams having further chances in the game, Kettering's defence held firm and the game ended 1-0. This was a great preparation game for the season which starts in 2 weeks time. Next week North Staffs will be an equally challenging opponent.
