For the second time this season Kettering were playing local rivals Towcester, but this time in the Trophy. With the date of the game being in half term Kettering's 1st team was depleted. However some great players from the 2nd team stepped up and even though half the team had not played together before, Kettering put in a solid team performance. The game was quite even and at half time the score was 0-0, with neither being able to finish that final shot and put the ball in the net. Cath Irvin and Alice Garnham putting in a great performance in the centre of the pitch to keep Towcester at bay even though their legs must have been tired from a hard game the day before. Towards the end of the second half, Kettering had a short corner awarded against them, and Towcester put the ball wide left to deflect the ball past the post player and into the back of the goal. This did not stop Kettering trying and again Anna Ellson put in some great runs down the right to get the ball up the pitch for Kettering. The game ended 0 - 1 to Towcester who go through to the next round. Kettering were not too disappointed and knew they had fought hard in tricky circumstances.
