Kettering worked hard, but subs on the opposition kept up the speed and pressure.

Throughout the game, Kettering put pressure on the opposition, who showed speed and strength throughout the game.

The first goal was from a well struck short corner which was just the wrong height for Kettering's post player to stop it.

From this Kettering piled on the pressure. In a particular play, Kettering had a couple of shots, all rebounding off the keeper. The last rebound fell to a well placed Emma Findlay who pushed the ball neatly past the keeper.

However, it wasn't long before Loughborough found themselves back in the lead. Again another hard short corner strike avaided the defender on the other post.

After half time, Kettering again played well to try to balance the score. However pushing forward allowed Loughborough's fresh substitutes hit us on the break. From 2 of these breaks Loughborough's forwards managed to place the ball past goalkeeper Nik Baker, into the corners of the goal.

Kettering did manage to get a consolation goal from a well worked short corner, with Sophie Reynolds finding Jess Clarke who slotted the ball home.

Not the scoreline wanted but a lot of lessons learnt in this game for Kettering to work on, ready for the league to start in 2 weeks time.
