Draw keeps Kettering close to mid table.

Last game before Christmas and Kettering knew they would need at least a point from this game to keep them near mid table, and to try to lengthen the gap between them and the bottom 2. Kettering started on top and the first half was mostly Kettering pressure on the opposition's goal. We won a few short corners but did not manage to convert the pressure into a goal. Having a couple of strong players back from sickness helped the forward line and midfield and we seemed to have great success in keeping the ball down the other end of the pitch. We were confident going into the 2nd half and again played well getting the ball across the pitch through the defence and midfield into the spaces which meant we could attack their D. Tamworth have not let too many goals in over the first half of the season and as they packed their D with defence it was proving hard to break them down to get a clean shot. Towards the end of the second half again tiredness was showing a little and we let Tamworth play through the middle of the pitch as their 2 centre mids took control of their attack. However great defence by Kettering shadowing and running with these players meant they did not get a clean shot on goal. The game ended 0-0 and keeps us 7th in the league. Results meant we are unbeaten in 4 of the last 6 matches, and we want to keep this record going and look to improve in 2016.
