Shakey performance but worthy of the draw.

With the weather messing up our friendlies and training we were up for a game today but new it might take a few minutes to get into the swing of things. Our passing throughout the game wasn't our best but the whole team worked hard and there was some very good individual skill, especially from Jess Morricca who made some fantastic skill full runs to get the ball down the other end of the pitch. We scored first from a Penalty Corner, Laura Cave hitting the back board with a shot from the top of the D. This seemed to wake our opponents up and we were then under the cosh for most of the first half and Warwick managed to sneak two past us. So the score going into half time break was 2-1 to Warwick. After the break Kettering started to use their passing a bit better and our centre mids got more involved in the game. From a break away Cath Irvin cracked a ball from near the half way line to the opposite corner for Linzi Webster to chase into the D. Linzi's lightening speed managed to get to the ball just as it was near the back line and forced their Keeper to come out of the goal to close her down. Linzi managed to knock the ball towards the top of the D where Cath Irvin was on hand to hit it into the Goal. Not long after this second goal Warwick had their own break away and their skillful left forward managed to evade tackling to pass the ball across our goal to be slotted home. Score now 3-2 to Warwick. With not long of the game left Kettering pushed forward and won a free hit just outside the opponents D. Cath took it quickly passing across the top of the D to Linzi who one touch slapped the ball to Meg Forrader on the left post who neatly reverse stick pushed the ball into the goal. With the score now being level both teams were pushing to try to get the win and giving their all not to lose. Some frantic tackling meant a Warwick midfielder and soon after Jess Austin of Kettering both received green cards. An even game resulting in an even score and an important point for Kettering.
