Kettering faced a tough game against an unbeaten top of the league side who put 6 past us at the start of the season.
Kettering started on the back foot but defended admirably to keep the opposition at bay. However, they managed to put together some attacking play which culminated in a penalty flick being awarded to the away side as Ellie Darnells stick was hooked in the D. Jess Moricca, stepped up confidently and put the ball into the left hand side. Against the run of play Kettering were 1-0 at half time.
The 2nd half continued as the first half had ended with Kettering defending for their lives. About half way through the 2nd half some awesome corner defence cleared the ball to Jess Moricca who rolled out & lays an inch perfect ball for Meg Forader. Meg 1v1 with the opposition golkeeper, rolls right and slips the ball into the goal under the diving keeper. Kettering were pinned back in their half for the rest of the game but with what felt like over 50 chances for the opposition none were scored.
Kettering win 2-0!!! Great defensive performance by the whole team and puts us back up to 5th.
