Kettering travelled to Warwick this weekend hoping to consolidate their position in the league but were on the receiving end of a disappointing loss.
The warm weather and the unpredictable pitch meant the game started quite slow and as it became apparent that Warwick would be battling hard for their survival in the league. Kate Metcalfe in goal and player of the match Laura Cave kept Kettering in the game after Warwick fought their way through to take on the defence. As the game progressed Kettering rose above the hard play and played some nice passing hockey across the pitch. They had the opportunities to take the lead but today wasn't going to be one of those days. When it looked like both sides were going to have to settle for the draw Warwick scored a late winner. This was extremely frustrating for the away side as the goal came from a free hit that should have been Kettering's ball but Warwick reacted quickest and fired ahead before Kettering had time to set up.
Kettering now face Stone in their last league game of the season next weekend which is a must win game for the side.
