Saints 3rds 1 - 2 Kettering Ladies 2nds

Kettering Ladies 2nds travelled to Northampton to play Saints 3rds in their first league game of the season. Kettering started well defending well and building a number of attacks. Kirsty Smith giving Kettering the lead mid way through the first half. Kettering then had a number of other chances before Smith doubled their lead, finishing off a fine team goal involving passes from Sue Russell, Helen Keyworth and Mandy Starsmore-Young. The second half was a very different affair. Saints put a Kettering under pressure and Kettering were unable to get their game going again. Injuries to Emma Findlay, Starsmore-Young and Keyworth saw the game stop and start continually. Saints were able to pull a goal back and Kettering found themselves stuck in defence and were pleased to see the game out with a 2-1 win. Kettering are a home this Saturday against Wildcatz.
