Great effort against last year's Div 1 runners up.

This week the 3rd team took on Earls Barton who finished second in division 1 last season, so this would be a tough game.
The game started at a quick pace with Earls Barton scoring 1st. Kettering then replied when Natalia Bednarczyck followed up her own saved shot to deftly go round the GK and score. Earls Barton then replied with their 2nd goal. Kettering then scored again when Ola Bednarczyck made a run through midfield and shot at goal and Immi Mitchell got the final touch on the ball to ensure it crossed the line. Unfortunately Earls Barton replied with another goal before half time.
In the second half Earls Barton proved the stronger team and scored another 3 goals. Sophie Bennett in goal and her defensive line kept the scoreline down with Sophie making some fantastic saves to deny Earls Barton. As this was a training game the score line was irrelevant. Players were played in all different positions to see how they went and everyone adapted brilliantly. A great effort was made by all players with Meghan Griggs getting man of the match with 3 votes and 4 other members of the team getting 2 votes each. This proves what a great team performance it was and that the 3rd team are ready to take on the league games from next week.
