Bruss brings you this weeks match report.

With the Captain and Vice far away chomping on Cornish Pasties, the pressure was on for the 2 stand ins.
Firstly, it was key to ensure everyone was there ( not sure how many air miles we used) with multiple vehicles and guess who made it with minutes to go,Nat, with a just in time approach.

My teamtalk was to keep it simple with the back 4 remaining unchanged and the youthful midfield subbing each other leaving the new forward line of Pam and Rachel.
It was a very uncharacteristic sunny warm first day of November which Jill embraced and Bruss, no base layer, struggled to identify the pale blue of the opposition.
The "system"appeared to be working as everyone worked and supported each other with seamless subbing and Lynn (welcome to the 2s) had a near miss towards the end of the 1st half.
The play was end to end and a 0-0 at half time was to be celebrated as everyone had adapted to their role.
The 2nd half began very positively as Kettering dominated play using their passing play to out manoeuvre St Neots and it was from sustained play from Jill down the right that Rachel connected from Jill's pass to slot in a contender for goal of the season as the acute angle flew passed the St Neots GK into the goal.
Kettering continued to attack and St Neots battled to level, however, the defence of Jill,Sophie,Laura, Angie and later Lynn whom stopped a ball on the line was to be admired resulting in a deserved win for Kettering and a grateful stand in Captain (for 1 week only).
The midfield, Beth,Nat,Grace,Lynn and Eva maintained their shape and Pam and Rachel worked hard in their new found roles.

The mini twixes provided by Eva for the journey home replenished everyone's sugar levels.
