Market Harborough got revenge for the 2-1 defeat in the first meeting in the league with a convincing 9-1 defeat of Kettering 2nds. Kettering started well and forced a short corner in the first few minutes but were unable to find the back of the net and Harborough grew in confidence, passing the ball well in midfield. Poor passing by Kettering gave possession away too often and they found themselves 3 - 0 at half time. The second half saw more of the same and although Kettering won possession and stopped initial shots Harborough were able to win the ball back easily as Kettering failed to build when in possession of the ball. Harborough scored six more in the second half and only a consolation goal from Kirsty Smith, after a fine run and cross from Ola Bendacyk gave Kettering something to smile about. Kettering and Smith were unfortunate not to double their tally after finding the back of the net again after a short corner only for the goal to be correctly disallowed for not coming out of the circle. Kettering face Loughborough Students 3rds at home 11.30am start in their final game, of what has been a hard season, next Saturday.
