Kettering Ladies 3rds travelled on a wet and windy day for their rearranged game v St Neots. The first game being postponed due to frozen pitch previously. Both teams struggled initially to adapt to the conditions with St Neots taking control in midfield. St Neots took the lead after a mistake by Kettering gave them the ball. However Kettering were quick to respond and when Shez Coe drove into the D, Natalie Irons was on hand to fire the ball into the net to level the scores. Kettering then when on to take the lead when Kirsty Smith slotted home from a breakdown short corner. The second half saw Kettering take control scoring three more times, Smith getting her second, Mandy Starsmore-Young from close range and Julia Telford scoring a penalty stroke. However Kettering allowed St Neots to have the last say when a Kettering hit out was intercepted with only seconds on the clock and no mistake was made in firing home to give St Neots a second goal.
