Game of two-halves ends in Kettering victory.

Still high from their dispatching of Northgate, a confident Kettering arrived at Moulton prepared for a tougher game, despite being without captain Oliver Smith and only having one sub.
Play began; Kettering, despite seeming the stronger side, faced staunch defending from the Saxons. The first goal of the evening came from a ball finding Lewis Pywell in the middle of the pitch. It was never in doubt that he would score as he blistered up the pitch, calmly sending the goalie flailing on the floor and placing the ball in the back of the open-goal. 1 - 0. A foul by the opposition in a crowded 'D' resulted in a penalty stroke to the good and Pywell stepped up. 2 - 0.
The game progressed with Kettering piling on the pressure. Jason Clarke missed several opportunities to put Kettering ahead, although he did tally up an assist after he crashed the ball into the 'D' and Laura Cave seized the opportunity to put Kettering even further ahead. Cave scored her second (and Kettering's last) of the game slightly before half-time, with a cool finish: starting with her back facing the goal and quickly pivoting at the same time as she was shooting to score in style and make it 4 - 0 to the good at the interval.
The second half was a different story altogether. I don't think anyone will argue when I say we were dire. The ball must have only left the Kettering half four or five times. The Saxons invaded the Skymoons' end and didn't budge for the whole half. One of many scuffles in the 'D' gave the Saxons a goal. The second goal came from Ross Mathieson (who hadn't missed a tackle the whole night) dribbling into a crowd of white-shirted Saxons, who reacted fast and a 3-on-1 situation ended in an inevitable goal. Kettering, for whatever reason, couldn't seem to string a decent passage of play together.
In the end, though, the two blunders didn't matter as the game ended at 4 - 2 to the Skymoons. Two wins from two games!
