With Summer league done we moved straight onto the summer intra club games. And again great to see every team represented and ages from 13 to well let’s just say +70!

Playing 20min quarters( to allow the umpires to switch and play) the game started in beautiful sunshine.10 cagey minutes then the goal fest began.

Q1 Goal 1: WHITES :1:0 Stu M : 1 on 1 with Barry, who was unlucky in blocking the shot only for the topspin to deflect it over his body and evading the rushing back Martin.
Q1 Goal 2: Blues 1:1 Lee First shot from the short saved by Bea but popped up to Harry who doesn’t miss from that close.
Q2 Goal 3: Whites 2:1 Sam a mazy run and persistent shots paid off.
Q2 Goal 4 Blues 2:2 Harry again this time a lovely swivel and shot
Q2 Goal 5 Blues 2:3 Dan S where did that come from a driving run from half way, scything through the whites and an unstoppable shot from the top of the D
Q2 Goal 6 Whites 3:3 Ben St slotted the flick after Martin stopped Shaun’s effort on goal with a foot.
Q3 Goal 7 Whites 4:3 Stu M scored but this was all about the killer through ball from Dom, just needed that little dink at the back post
Q3 Goal 8 Blues 4:4 Harry D (the less I write about this the better - should have stayed up front - note to self never pass a 16 out to the opposition striker at the top of the D they tend to score!

So 4:4 with the last quarter to play.

Q4 Goal 9 Whites 5:4 Ben Sm a replica of Dan’s (and at the same end)
Q4 Goal 10 Whites 6:4 Stu M (yep a back post bobbler from 1yard out)
Q4 Goal 11 Whites 7:4 Shaun gets in on the act, trade mark cool composure in the D.
Q4 Goal 12 Whites 8:4 Our new striker Nick (yes Nick playing up front) scored although to be fair the keeper had been pulled (without the Blues captain ,Dan S knowing, when asked who took him off Barry said the Umpire! Nice one Lee.

And that’s how it finished, irrespective of the score it was great fun and some really nice hockey. Next game is on 8th August.
