Hockey has always been a family sport and today’s lineup exemplifies that. The Hawkins family provided three player, Mark, with sons Charlie and Sam with the Singodia’s providing two, Kethan and younger sibling Amish.
The return of Hawkins Snr and Brookesy to the ranks gave veteran keeper Barry some old age company.
Kettering started reasonably well and forced a few short corners but their routine continually misfired. Adam, again putting in a great shift, had a chance cleared off the line but that was pretty much all Kettering produced from an attacking perspective. Wisbech took the lead towards the end of the first half when Barry saved a short corner but the rebound was fired home past Darren on the line.
The second half saw Kettering compete well but without a cutting edge. Wisbech double their lead with ten to go, again from a short.
This leaves Kettering with three points from their opening three games, exactly the same as last year, but that was an unbeaten three draws.
