The start of the league season straight away throws one of the tougher assignments to the new(ish) look 2nds. CoP 5, relegated from Div 3 last year, will be keen to bounce back and will be looking to start with a win. Games between Kettering and the lower CoP sides usually follow a similar pattern as the clubs have very differing styles. CoP content to play on the counter by soaking up pressure; Kettering teams on the front foot. Kettering's forward will need to be razor sharp to put their chances away. After an inconsistent preseason new skipper Ollie Smith will be looking for a solid team performance. Ewen, Josh, Finn and the evergreen Barry will make their 2nds team league debuts. The team are looking to consolidate last year's 7th place without the threat of a relegation scrap this year. Irrespective of the result we are hoping Mr Lavender's tea is up to scratch a provides a benchmark for the season. 14.30 start at Bishop Stopford School, all welcome.
