Spalding travelled to Kettering on a fairly sunny day. Spalding were moving the ball around in the middle of the pitch with Dan Carter being solid in the middle making it challenging for them to go wide. Kettering, getting better as the game went on were having some promising chances but couldn't find the finishing touches, leading to Spalding coming straight back at them. The back four of Nick, Richard, Ash and Martin holding strong along with Gary when he later came on with Dan just in front. With Kettering getting positive attacks, and some shorts with good distribution in the middle of the park from Frazer, nothing came of it and it remained 0-0 at half time.

Coming into the second half Kettering were eager to score knowing that one goal could be the difference in this tight game. A tactical switch bought Mike onto the right and Theo on the left, which saw Mike make some great runs down the right hand side threatening the opposition. However, Spalding kept battling and were equally causing problems, but not enough to get through onto goal. Mid way through the second half Kettering saw themselves with a short corner. Nick hit the ball at goal which the keeper got a pad to but it wasn't enough to stop the shot getting over the line, this goal was unfortunately disallowed as it was just outside the 'D'. The last 10 minutes were the best 10 minutes from Kettering seeing them pushing for the last goal (even seeing Dan moving up the pitch), but as Spalding defended the attacks and came straight back at Kettering only for Kettering to defend their attack and be back to attacking once again. The final whistle was blown and another goalless game.

Man of the Match goes to Dan Carter who forced Spalding out ride and stopping direct attacks from Spalding down the middle effectively.
