Kettering travelled to St Ives looking to secure 3 points knowing how close they were to each other in the table. With Ray in goal, and Nick Cusk moving into the midfield Kettering looked ready. Kettering looked strong when attacking and kept the ball up the opposition's half for the majority of the first half. The few times St Ives were on the attack the Kettering defence stayed composed winning back the ball only for Kettering to be on the attack. With some nice hockey all around, the ball ended up with Ben Mayes who played the ball across the pitch to the top of the 'D' where James Gibbs (Gibbo) received the ball, stayed composed and slotted the ball into the net, 1-0 Kettering. Kettering kept their momentum with attacking and with a run down the left wing from Ethan Roberts he found Lee in the 'D' who turned, shot and scored, 2-0 Kettering. Kettering saw the half out to the end with no real threat.

Going into the second half Kettering were ready to secure the win with another couple of goals. However, St Ives came out the second half hungry, playing a lot higher up the pitch Kettering saw themselves on the back foot. The family partnership of Richard and Dan Carter saw St Ives struggle. With great distribution from full backs Ashley Easton and Martin Young Kettering had lots of chances to counter attack. Kettering held strong until the whistle was blown for full time.
