Kettering v Peterborough 2s

It was cold game for Kettering who were visited by Peterborough 2s. Kettering were hoping to earn some points. Kettering started well with advancing play up both wings and transferring the ball. Kettering dealt well with the half court press in the first half patiently waiting for opportunity. We earned chances with a ball going just wide and a one on one with the keeper, yet Kettering failed to convert these chances to goals. It wasn’t all Kettering’s way with Peterborough having periods of possessive play and breaking with speed. However the first half ended 0-0. The second half continued in a similar fashion for the first 15 mins with end to end play. Yet as Kettering entered the last 20 minutes a shift in momentum occurred in favour of Peterborough with them being more possessive and firing balls into the D. These were effectively dealt with by whole team defending and great goal keeping. The game ended 0-0 with Kettering securing a point and a strong performance to be proud of. Player of the match went to Connie for her tireless running and closing down of the ball which either resulted in a turnover or forcing Peterborough backwards. Kettering are away to Wisbech this weekend and hope to carry the momentum of this game with them !
